Boukas shares Afternoon track from his upcoming EP

The first track composition featured in Boukas’ latest series, entitled Inkel Stories, marks a collaborative effort between Boukas and Math-Mic. This collaboration seamlessly merges elements of classical hip-hop with velvety-smooth keystrokes, resulting in a composition characterized by its rich diversity. The piece embodies Boukas’ signature dreamy style, replete with intricate textural nuances, harmoniously interwoven with Math-Mic’s meticulous programming and adept keyboard performance.

Titled “Afternoon,” – Imbued with a nostalgic aura, the track has been thoughtfully transcribed onto cassette tape, imparting a charmingly antiquated ambiance that harmonizes with the distinctive qualities inherent to analog equipment.

“Inkel Stories” represents Boukas’ latest series, deriving its name from his acquisition of new equipment, including a 4-track cassette deck and an Inkel mixer. The distinctive characteristics of this mixer, featuring an inherently gritty sound along with a built-in delay effect, are perceptible throughout the record, notably on elements like snare drums. Boukas consistently crafts music that mirrors life’s various scenarios, often leaning into a monochromatic musical palette that invites listeners to infuse their own colors, a sentiment mirrored in the album covers.
